How it works

Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s is used in the treatment of ulcers in the small intestine.

Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s is used in the treatment of ulcers in the stomach.

Gastroesophagal Reflux Disease
Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s is used for the treatment of a condition where the acid produced in the stomach causes irritation in the food pipe.

Hypersecretory Condition
Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s is used to prevent and treat conditions where the amount of acid secreted in the stomach is abnormally high.

Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
This medicine is used to treat a condition where an excessive amount of acid is produced in the stomach due to tumors in the small intestine.

Dyspepsia
This medicine relieves indigestion and sour stomach due to excess acid production in the stomach.

Allergy
Not recommended in patients with known allergy to Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s or other H2 antagonists.

Impaired kidney function
Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. The dose should be adjusted if the CrCl is less than 50 ml/min.

Effect on Central nervous system
Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s may show the effect on central nervous system in patients with kidney dysfunction. Any symptoms of dizziness, confusion should be reported to the doctor.

Use of nicotine
The use of nicotine is not recommended during treatment with this medicine due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped.

General Instructions
Take Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s as instructed by your doctor. It should be taken before food at bedtime. Do not take in larger amounts than prescribed. Take this medicine at the same time every day.

what are the adverse effects of Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s?
Headache, dizziness, constipation, diarrhoea, dry mouth, nausea, rash, Gl upset, abdominal discomfort, anorexia, fatigue, rash, liver enzyme abnormalities, cholestatic jaundice, anaphylaxis, angioedema, arthralgia, muscle cramp. CNS disturbances. Rarely reversible gynaecomastia, toxic epidermal necrolysis. AV block.
What happens if I miss a dose of Zepsin tablet 20 mg 10’s?
Adults: Benign gastric and duodenal ulcer: 40 mg at night for 4-8 wk.
Prophylaxis of duodenal ulcer relapse: 20 mg at night.
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Initially 20 mg every 6 hr, adjust as necessary; max 800 mg daily.
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease: 20 mg twice daily for 6-12 wk; if also erosion or ulceration, 40 mg twice daily for 6-12 wk. Prophylaxis 20 mg twice daily.
Heartburn, indigestion, sour stomach: 10-20 mg every 12 hr, the dosage may be taken 15-60 min before eating foods known to cause heartburn.
Children: Peptic ulcer: 1-16 yr: 0.5 mg/kg/day at bedtime or in divided doses.
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease: Less than 3 mth: 0.5 mg/kg once daily; 3-12 mth: 0.5 mg/kg twice daily; 1-16 yr: 1 mg/kg divided in two doses (max 40 mg twice daily).
