How to use Zipra capsule 40 mg 14’s
Administered by IM. Reconstitute each vial with 1.2 mL of SWFI, shake vigorously, will form a pale, pink solution containing 20 mg/mL ziprasidone.
Stability: Reconstituted injection may be stored at room temperature up to 24 hours, or up to 7 days if refrigerated, protect from light.
what are the adverse effects of Zipra capsule 40 mg 14’s?
Asthaenia, headache, GI disturbances, somnolence, agitation, akathisia, dizziness, dystonia, extra-pyramidal syndrome, hypotonia, tremor, abnormal vision.
What happens if I miss a dose of Zipra capsule 40 mg 14’s?
Adults: ORAL: Schizophrenia: Initial: 20 mg twice daily with food. Max: 80 mg twice daily.
Bipolar Disorder: Acute Manic & Mixed Episodes: Initial: 40 mg twice daily with food. Titrate: Increase to 60-80 mg twice daily on 2nd day of treatment. Maint: 40-80 mg twice daily with food.
Children: Not recommended.
Adults: INJECTION: Psychosis: IM: 10 mg every 2 hr or 20 mg every 4 hr, max 40 mg per day. Oral therapy should replace IM administration as soon as possible.
Schizophrenia: IM: Adults: Initial: 10 to 20 mg. 10 mg dose may be given every 2 hr up to max dose; 20 mg dose may be given every 4 hr up to max dose. Max: 40 mg daily.
Children: Not recommended.
