Ethionamide is an antimycobacterial medicine used to treat tuberculosis. It is generally used in patients who have acquired resistance to other anti-tubercular medicines. It is usually taken in a combination with other medicines to treat all types of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This medicine is not recommended for use in children below 12 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
