Daz tablet 10 mg 30’s is used in the treatment of symptoms of alcohol withdrawal like hallucinations, anxiety, and seizures.

Daz tablet 10 mg 30’s is used to relieve skeletal muscle spasm which occurs due to an inflammation of the muscle or joints.

Adjunct prior to endoscopic procedures

This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with myasthenia gravis due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

Narrow-angle glaucoma
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma since it may worsen the patient's condition.

Suicidal thoughts
Use of benzodiazepines in depression conditions may increase the risk of suicide. Therefore this medicine should be used with caution and prescription size should be limited in patients with depression or suicidal tendencies.

Withdrawal symptoms
Daz tablet 10 mg 30’s should not be stopped immediately without informing the doctor due to the risk of withdrawal symptoms like convulsions, behavioral disorder, tremor, and anxiety. Gradual dose reduction should be made based on the outcomes in the patient.

How to use Daz tablet 10 mg 30’s
IV: Continuous infusion is not recommended because of precipitation in IV fluids and absorption of drug into infusion bags and tubing. In children, do not exceed 1-2 mg/min IVP; in adults 5 mg/min. By IV injection, 10 mg at a rate of 1 mL (5 mg) per min, repeated once after 10 min if necessary. Children under 12 years, 300-400 mcg/kg (maximum 10 mg). IM: Administration by this route is painful and absorption is slow and erratic. This route should be avoided where possible. If the IM route is used, inject undiluted.
Reconstitution: Most stable at pH 4-8, hydrolysis occurs at pH lt;3.
Compatibility: Do not mix IV product with other medications.
Y-site administration:
Drug to Drug IV Incompatibility: Amphotericin B cholesteryl sulphate complex, atracurium, cefepime. Diltiazem, fluconazole, gatifloxacin, heparin, heparin with hydrocortisone sodium succinate, hydromorphone, potassium chloride. Propofol, vecuronium, Vit B complex with C, meropenem, pancuronium, linezolid.
Stability: Stable at room temperature. Potency is retained up to 3 months. Protect from light.
what are the adverse effects of Daz tablet 10 mg 30’s?
Drowsiness and light headedness, which may continue into the following day. Muscle weakness, ataxia, confusion, vertigo, GI upset, hypotension, visual disturbance, rash, impaired alertness and dexterity, headache, urinary retention, changes in libido, Rarely blood disorder, jaundice, respiratory depression, abnormal psychological reactions. Paradoxical reactions, anterograde amnesia. Dependence. Injection: rarely, thrombophlebitis.
What happens if I miss a dose of Daz tablet 10 mg 30’s?
Adults: ORAL: Anxiety, insomnia, night terrors and somnambulism: 1-5 mg daily; others, 6-30 mg daily.
Muscle spasm, cerebral spasticity: Adults, Elderly, 1-30 mg daily; others, 2-60 mg daily. Both in divided doses.
Sedative cover in medical and surgical procedures: Usually 0.2 mg/kg.
Adults: INJECTION: Status epilepticus. Febrile convulsions: 10-20 mg by IV or IM inj repeated after 30-60 min if necessary. If indicated up to 3 mg/kg by IV infusion over 24 hr.
Adults: SUPPOSITORIES: Anxiety: 10-30 mg (higher dose divided); dose form not appropriate for less than 10 mg. Anxiety, insomnia, night terrors and somnambulism: Elderly, 5 mg; others, 10 mg. Both by IM or IV inj four hourly.
Muscle spasm, cerebral spasticity: Elderly, 5 mg; others, 10 mg. Both four hourly IM or IV.
Children: Status epilepticus, febrile convulsions, convulsions caused by poisoning: INJECTION: The following dose given by IV injection over 3-5 minutes, to be repeated once after 10 minutes if necessary. Neonate, 300-400 mcg/kg; 1 mth-12 yr, 300-400 mcg/kg (max 10 mg); 12-18 yr, 10 mg. By rectum (as rectal solution): The following dose to be repeated once after 10 minutes if necessary: 1 yr -2 yr, 5 mg; 2-12 yr, 5-10 mg; 12-18 yr, 10-20 mg.
Life-threatening acute drug-induced dystonic reactions: INJECTION: By IV injection over 3-5 minutes: 1 mth-12 yr, 100 mcg/kg repeat doses as necessary; 12-18 yr, 5-10mg repeat doses as necessary.
Muscle spasm in cerebral spasticity or in postoperative skeletal muscle spasm: ORAL: 1-12 mth, initially 250 mcg/kg twice daily; 1-5 yr, initially 2.5 mg twice daily; 5-12 yr, initially 5 mg twice daily; 12-18 yr, initially 10 mg twice daily, max total daily dose 40 mg.
Tetanus: INJECTION: IV: 1 mth-18 yr, 100-300 mcg/kg repeated every 1-4 hr. IV infusion (or by nasoduodenal tube): 1 mth-18 yr, 3-10 mg/kg over 24 hr, adjusted according to response.
