Pneumonia
This medicine is used in the treatment of Pneumonia which is a common type of lung infection caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

Ear Infection (Otitis Media)
This medicine is used in the treatment if Otitis Media which is an infection of the middle ear caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, etc.

Bronchitis
This medicine is used in the treatment of Bronchitis which is an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, etc.

Pertussis
This medicine is used in the treatment of Pertussis, an acute respiratory illness which is commonly referred to as whooping cough, caused by Bordetella pertussis.

Prophylaxis for Rheumatic Fever
This medicine is used for the long-term prevention of upper respiratory tract infections caused by streptococcal species (Strep throat), to prevent recurrences of rheumatic fever.

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to [post, any other macrolides, or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.

Hepatic impairment
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of cholestatic jaundice or hepatic impairment caused by the prior use of this medicine. It is also not recommended for use in patients with a history of severe hepatic impairment due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects.

Drug-resistance
Usage of this medicine without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that are drug resistant.

Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea
Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. Report any such incidence to the doctor on priority and avoid usage of this medicine in such cases.

Impaired liver function
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of an impaired liver function due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Close monitoring of liver function, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.

QT prolongation
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of arrhythmias, heart diseases, and patients who are on medicines that prolong QT intervals such as psychiatric drugs and anti-arrhythmic drugs due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Replacement with a suitable alternative should be considered based on the clinical condition of the patient.

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a history of myasthenia gravis due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.
