How to use Kefei Injection 1 gm 1 Vial
Haemodialysis patients: Administered over 2-3 min into the venous line after each dialysis.
what are the adverse effects of Kefei Injection 1 gm 1 Vial?
Hypertension, peripheral oedema. Dizziness, fever, paresthesia, depression. Hypercalcaemia. Diarrhoea, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea. Weakness. Allergic reaction.
What happens if I miss a dose of Kefei Injection 1 gm 1 Vial?
Metabolic disorders: 50 mg/kg as a slow 2- to 3-min IV bolus or by IV infusion.
Severe metabolic crisis: A loading dose of 50 mg/kg over 2-3 min followed by an equivalent dose over the following 24 hr administered as every 3 hr or every 4 hr (never less than every 6 hr either by infusion or by IV injection). All subsequent daily doses are recommended to be in the range of 50 mg/kg or as therapy may require the highest dose administered which has been 300 mg/kg. It is recommended that a plasma carnitine concentration be obtained prior to beginning parenteral therapy accompanied by wkly and monthly monitoring.
End-stage renal disease patients on haemodialysis: Predialysis levocarnitine concentrations below normal (40-50 micro mol/L): 10-20 mg/kg dry body weight as a slow 2- to 3-min bolus after each dialysis session. Dosage adjustments should be guided by predialysis trough levocarnitine concentrations and downward dose adjustments (to 5 mg/kg after dialysis) may be made as early as every 3rd or 4th wk of therapy.
