How it works
Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s works by inhibiting the influx of calcium into the muscles and causes relaxation of the muscles.

When not to use?

Allergy
Avoid if you have a known allergy to Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s or any medicine belongs to the class calcium channel blockers.

Acute myocardial infarction
This medicine is not recommended in the patients with known case of myocardial infarction.

Sick sinus syndrome
This medicine is not recommended in the patients with sick sinus syndrome except in the presence of a functioning ventricular pacemaker.
Warnings

Pregnancy
This medicine is not recommended for pregnant women. Use under the supervision of the doctor, only if clinical condition clearly requires the use of this medicine.

Breast-feeding
This medicine is not recommended for breastfeeding women. Use only if clearly needed under the doctor's supervision. Monitoring of blood pressure is necessary.

Hypotension
Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s may further decrease the blood pressure which results in symptomatic hypotension. Frequent monitoring of blood pressure is necessary. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

Cardiac Conduction
Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s may cause slow heart rates and this effect is more in the patients who are on beta-blockers or digitalis. Frequent monitoring of heart function is necessary. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

Impaired liver function
Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s may cause a mild elevation in the liver enzymes like alkaline phosphatase, LDH, SGOT, SGPT. These levels return to normal once the medicine is discontinued. Close monitoring of liver function tests is necessary. Dose adjustments are to be made based on the clinical condition.

Skin reaction
Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s may cause rare but severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolusis, erythema multiforme and/or exfoliative dermatitis. Any symptoms of skin rash or itching should be reported to the doctor.

Use in children
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients below 18 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.

Missed Dose
The missed dose can be taken as soon as you remember. However, the missed dose should be skipped if it is almost time for your next dose.

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.
General Instructions
You should carefully follow all instructions on the label. The duration and amount of medicine consumed should be as prescribed by the doctor. It can be taken with food or after food. An adequate amount of water should be consumed to minimize the irritation caused in the stomach.

UNLICENSED USE
Children: Raynaud’s syndrome: ORAL:12-18 yr, 30-60 mg 2-3 times daily.
what are the adverse effects of Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s?
Bradycardia, 1st degree AV block, ankle oedema, nausea, headache, rash, flushing, hypotension, GI upset, fatigue, gingival hyperplasia. Changes in liver function, hepatitis, palpitations, dizziness, malaise, asthaenia, erythema, pruritus, hyperglycaemia. Mood changes incl depression.
What happens if I miss a dose of Myozem tablet 60 mg 3×10’s?
Adults: Usually 60 mg three times daily, increasing if necessary to max 480 mg daily in divided doses. Elderly: Initially 60 mg twice daily. Children: Not recommended.
