What happens if I miss a dose of Plabolyte-40 Infusion 500 mL?
By IV, depending upon the requirement of potassium.
Adults: 5-10 mEq/hr potassium by IV intermittent infusion. Not to exceed 40 mEq/hr. Usual adult max/24 hr 400 mEq/day. Children: IV 1 mEq/kg of potassium over 1-2 hr initially; then repeated as needed based on serum potassium level. IV intermittent infusion should not exceed 1 mEq/kg/hr or 40 mEq/hr. Usual paeds max: 3 mEq/kg/day or 40 mEq/m²/day.
