Depression
SMILOPRAM 20mg Tablet 14s is used in the treatment of depression which is a serious mood disorder characterized by feeling sad, irritable and devoid of energy.
When not to use?

Allergy
Not recommended in the patients allergic to SMILOPRAM 20mg Tablet 14s or other antidepressants.

Suicidal thoughts
Use with caution in the patients with major depressive disorder due to the increased risk of suicidal thoughts. Close monitoring of these symptoms is necessary. Inform the doctor if these symptoms worsen.

Abnormal bleeding
Use with caution in the patients who are on NSAIDs, aspirin, warfarin due to the increase in the risk of bleeding. Inform the doctor if experience any unusual bleeding. Close monitoring of blood count and prothrombin time is necessary.

Weight loss
This medicine is known to alter body weight. Close monitoring of body weight is necessary. Inform the doctor if you experience any symptoms of weight loss.

Discontinuation of treatment
Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it may cause withdrawal symptoms like nausea, headache, anxiety, dizziness, and irritability. Gradual dose reduction should be made under the doctor's supervision.

Impaired kidney function
Use with caution in the patients with severe kidney injury due to increase in the risk of accumulation of SMILOPRAM 20mg Tablet 14s . Dose adjustments are to be made based on the CrCl.

Pediatric use
This medicine is not recommended for the children less than 18 years.

Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double your dose to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor if any symptoms of the overdose like dizziness, loss of consciousness appear.

Use with caution in adults and pediatrics with depression as it may worsen the symptoms of depression. Close monitoring of these symptoms like changes in the behavior and suicidal thoughts is necessary. Discontinue the medicine if symptoms persist.

moderate
This medicine may increase the seizures. It should be used with caution in the patients with the history of epilepsy and not recommended in the patients with unstable epilepsy.
General Instructions
Take SMILOPRAM 20mg Tablet 14s as advised by your doctor. Do not take in larger amounts than advised. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable effects. Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor as it may cause withdrawal symptoms.
