Sovaldi tablet 400 mg 28’s is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus infection for preventing the growth and spread of the virus in the body.

Hepatocellular carcinoma and liver transplantation
This medicine is used in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatitis C, who are planning to undergo liver transplantation in order to prevent the recurrence of the infection.
When not to use?

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Sovaldi tablet 400 mg 28’s or any other medicines of the same drug class.

Pancreatitis
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of Pancreatitis due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Didanosine
When Sovaldi tablet 400 mg 28’s is used in combination with ribavirin, it is recommended not to use didanosine since the risk of serious side effects is very high.

Autoimmune hepatitis
The combination of Sovaldi tablet 400 mg 28’s , ribavirin, and peginterferon alfa is not recommended for use in patients with a known history of autoimmune hepatitis due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition.

Use with amiodarone
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in combination with amiodarone due to the increased risk of life-threatening cardiac complications including fatal cardiac arrest. This risk is especially higher in the first 48 hours of starting treatment with both these medicines. Coadministration of these medicines should be done only under close medical supervision with provisions to continuously monitor all vital signs of the patient. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be done based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Renal failure
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a previous history of renal diseases due to the increased risk of renal failure. Close monitoring of kidney function is necessary for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be done based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Hepatitis B
This medicine should be used with caution in patients with a known history of hepatitis B due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient's condition. Replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient. It is advised to test all patients for evidence of current or prior hepatitis B before starting treatment with this medicine.

If a dose of Sovaldi tablet 400 mg 28’s is missed, take the dose as soon as you remember it. If it almost time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

What happens if I miss a dose of Sovaldi tablet 400 mg 28’s?
Adults: 400 mg once daily with food. Continue for up to 24 wk. Children: lt;18 yr: Not recommended.
