Congestive Heart Failure
Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s is used in the treatment of congestive heart failure to prevent the narrowing of blood vessels and to allow the blood to flow smoothly.

Hypertension
Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s is used in the treatment of hypertension to decrease the blood pressure.

Myocardial infarction
Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s is used in the treatment of myocardial infarction (heart attack) to reduce the risk of further cardiovascular events and death.

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s .

Aliskiren
Coadministration of Aliskiren and Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s is not recommended in the elderly population with diabetes and kidney disease, with CrCl less than 60 ml/min. These patients are at a high risk of serious adverse effects if these medicines are used together.

Hypotension
Symptomatic hypotension may occur in patients with volume depletion or patients who are treated with high doses of diuretics. It is advised to correct the condition before starting Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s or to start the treatment at reduced doses.

Hyperkalemia
Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s may cause hyperkalemia, a condition with an increase in the potassium levels in the blood. Close monitoring of potassium levels and kidney functions is recommended. This medicine should be used with caution in patients with frequent use of potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements and in patients with impaired kidney function. Any unusual symptoms should be reported to the doctor on priority.

Impaired liver function
Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver failure.

Pediatric population
The safety and efficacy of this medicine have not been established in children under the age of 6 years.

Missed Dose
If a dose of Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s is missed, take the dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

What happens if I miss a dose of Velcard tablet 160 mg 14’s?
Adults: 80 mg once daily, dosage may be increased to 320 mg daily. Max 320 mg daily.
Children: Under 6 yr, not recommended. Hypertension: 6-18 yr: Body-weight 18-35 kg, initially 40 mg once daily, adjusted according to response, max 80 mg daily; Body-weight 35-80 kg, initially 80 mg once daily, adjusted according to response, max 160 mg daily; Body-weight 80 kg and over, initially 80 mg once daily, adjusted according to response, max 320 mg daily.
