How it works

Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam) is used in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Uneasiness, difficulty in sleeping, sweating of hands and feet are some of the symptoms of an anxiety disorder.

Panic disorder
Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam) is used in the treatment of panic disorder. Sweating, breathing problem, weakness and numbness in hands are some of the symptoms of a panic disorder.

Allergy
This medicine is not recommended for use if you have a known allergy to Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam) or other benzodiazepines.

Azole antifungal agents
Co-administration of Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam) and azole antifungal agents like Ketoconazole and Itraconazole should be done with extreme caution. Azole antifungal agents will increase the concentration of Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam) by increasing its availability in the body. This may result in serious side effects.

Drug dependence
Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam) has the tendency to cause dependency and abuse, particularly after a prolonged use or excessive dosages. Individuals with a history of alcohol or substance abuse should be monitored closely when they are on Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam). The dosage of this medicine should be tapered off gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Interdose symptoms

Insomnia, restlessness, headache, dizziness, akathisia, somnolence, tremor, blurred vision, GI upset, asthaenia. Stroke, TIA in elderly demented patients.
What happens if I miss a dose of Zolam tablet 0.5 mg 3×10’s(Alprazolam)?
Adults: Anxiety: Initial: 0.25-0.5 mg three times daily. Titrate: May increase every 3-4 days. Max: 4 mg/day.
Panic Disorder: Initial: 0.5-1 mg daily, preferably in the morning. Titrate: Increase by 1 mg/day every 3-4 days. Maintenance: 1-10 mg/day. Usual: 3-6 mg/day.
Children: Not recommended.
