• Toxoplasma encephalitis

• Pregnancy

• Other medicines

• Electrolyte disturbances

  This medicine should be used with caution in patients with imbalanced levels of electrolytes viz. potassium, magnesium, etc. due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Appropriate dose adjustments, corrective measures, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.

• Heart diseases

  This medicine should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. You may require a dose adjustment and more frequent clinical monitoring to safely use this medicine. • QT prolongation

  This medicine should be used with caution in patients with prolonged QT interval or patients who are undergoing therapy with medicines which may prolong the QT interval such as antipsychotics, tricyclic antidepressants, etc. due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. You may require a dose adjustment and more frequent clinical monitoring to safely use this medicine. • Use in elderly

  This medicine should be used with caution in elderly patients since the risk of severe adverse effects is significantly higher. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.

• Drug resistance

  It is advised to continue the usage of this medicine for the prescribed duration even when there is a marked improvement in symptoms. Failure to do so may result in drug resistance and may cause superinfections that are difficult to treat.

• Cross resistance

  This medicine may not be effective in the treatment of infections where the causative organism has developed a resistance to erythromycin. Instances of cross-resistance should be clinically evaluated before initiation of treatment with this medicine.

Take this medicine at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after the meals. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts than advised/prescribed.
