This medicine should be used with caution in patients with kidney impairment due to an increase in the blood urea levels. Discontinue the treatment if any sign of elevated urea levels is observed.

Drug-resistance
Usage of Tetrawil capsule 250 mg 500’s without sufficient proof or suspicion of a bacterial infection should be avoided. Irrational dosing might fail in providing the benefits and even cause toxicity. It may also increase the risk of development of bacteria that is drug resistant.

This medicine is not recommended in children less than 8 years due to the risk of permanent teeth discoloration.

General Instructions
Take Tetrawil capsule 250 mg 500’s as instructed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts than advised. Drink adequate amount of water to prevent the irritation in the intestine. Do not take with calcium-containing products because of the decrease in the absorption. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting the doctor.

How to use Tetrawil capsule 250 mg 500’s
For an adult, give IM inj in upper outer quadrant of buttocks or mid-lateral thigh. Deltoid muscle may be used but only if well developed. In children, give injection only in mid-lateral thigh.
what are the adverse effects of Tetrawil capsule 250 mg 500’s?
Tooth discolouration, enamel hypoplasia, hepatotoxicity, blood disorders, reduced fibula growth rate; avoid use in children under 8 years, unless no alternative. Gl disturbances. Allergic reactions. Superinfections.
What happens if I miss a dose of Tetrawil capsule 250 mg 500’s?
ORAL: Adults: 250-500 mg every 6 hr. Children: 25- 50 mg/kg every 6 hr.
INJECTION: IM: Adults: 250 mg every 6 hr or 300 mg every 8 hr or every 12 hr. Children: 15-25 mg/kg body-wt up to max 250 mg daily inj. The dosage may be divided at 8 or 12 hourly intervals.
