Uses of Tykerb tablet 250 mg 70’s

What is it prescribed for?

  • HER2- overexpressing advanced or metastatic breast cancer

    This medicine is indicated for the treatment of advanced or metastatic breast cancer in combination with capecitabine in patients whose tumors overexpress human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 positive (HER2) and who have progressed after therapy with other anti-cancer agents including an anthracycline, taxane, and trastuzumab.

  • Hormone-positive and HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer

    This medicine is used in combination with letrozole to treat metastatic breast cancer in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer that overexpresses the HER2 receptor for whom hormonal therapy is necessary.

  • Hormone receptor-negative metastatic breast cancer

    This medicine is used to treat hormone receptor-negative metastatic breast cancer in patients whose tumors overexpress HER2/neu and who have received prior trastuzumab therapy in combination with chemotherapy.

What happens if I miss a dose of Tykerb tablet 250 mg 70’s?

Adults: In combination with capecitabine, 1.25 gm once daily as a single dose. In combination with aromatase inhibitor, 1.5 gm once daily. Counselling: Always take at the same time in relation to food, either 1 hr before or 1 hr after food.
