Allergy
Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’s is not recommended if you have a known history of allergy to Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Asthma
Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’sis not recommended in patients with known history of Asthma.

Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (CABG)
Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’s is not recommended in patients undergone heart surgery.

Effect on heart
Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’s can have adverse effects on heart especially after a prolonged duration of use. It could increase the risk of diseases like stroke and heart attack which may be fatal.

Gastro-intestinal bleeding
Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’s can cause severe bleeding and perforation after prolonged usage. These adverse events may occur with or without warning symptoms. The elderly people are at greater risk to this and require the suitable adjustment in dosage.

How to use Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’s
IM: It should be made using aseptic technique into a relatively large muscle. The preferred site is the upper outer quadrant of the buttock (i.e. gluteus maximus). Aspiration is necessary to help avoid inadvertent injection into a blood vessel.
UNLICENSED USE
Children: Relief of pain and inflammation in juvenile idiopathic arthritis: ORAL: 6-18 yr and body-weight under 15 kg, 5 mg daily; 6-18 yr and body-weight 16-25 kg, 10 mg daily; 6-18 yr and body-weight 26-45 kg, 15 mg daily; 6-18 yr and body-weight over 46 kg, 20 mg daily.
what are the adverse effects of Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’s?
Gl disturbances, skin reactions, oedema, CNS effects, malaise, tinnitus, headache, vertigo, blood dyscrasias, renal or hepatic impairment, visual disturbances, hypertension, dizziness, anorexia, wt gain, hyperglycaemia, somnolence, raised serum transaminase, pancreatitis, skin reaction. Reports of peptic ulceration, perforation and GI bleeding.
What happens if I miss a dose of Zerax tablet Disp 20 mg 10’s?
ORAL: Adults: 20 mg daily as a single dose.
Musculo-skeletal disorders: Adults: Initially 40 mg daily for 2 days then 20 mg daily for 7-14 days.
Gout: Adults: Initially 40 mg as a single dose then 40 mg daily in single or divided doses for next 4-6 days.
INJECTION: Same as oral dose by deep IM Inj into upper quadrant of buttocks. Maintenance, use oral preps. Children: Not recommended.
SUPPOSITORY: Adults: 1 suppository daily, in severe cases 2 suppositories daily. Children: Not recommended.
